Process

         Follow the steps below to help you complete your task.  You can return to this page at any time by hitting the Process button to the left.  Be sure to read all five steps before beginning.

Step 1— You will complete this Webquest with a partner.  Open up the Simple Machines Data Sheet by clicking on the clipboard and print out a copy.  You will each need a copy (see clipboard icon on the left). 

Step 2—Use the links provided for you on the Resources page to research the different types of simple machines.  As you can see from your Data Sheet, there are six of them.  One of you will research the first three, and the other person will research the last three.  Only record your findings on your Data Sheet for the three machines that you are researching.  Remember to keep in mind how each simple machine might be used to create a piece of playground equipment.

Step 3—Share with each other what you learned about the three machines you researched and its possible uses in a playground setting.

Step 4—Agree upon a playground design.  If needed, refer to the Task page once again to make sure you complete all parts of the task. 

Step 5—Take a look at the Rubric that will be used to score your project.  Knowing where your grade is coming from will help you do your best.
